Railway Modelling

Layout building

Society members have now begun constructing a layout in the Society’s clubroom at Bridlington Station.

Railway modelling is one of the most fascinating hobbies. it involves:- carpentry, electronics, historical research, model making, art and craft, design, mathematics plus numerous other aspects. being a member of BARMATES will enable you to enjoy all this.

You do not have to have a layout of your own you will be able to help society members build and operate  layouts.

If you join BARMATES you will get the chance to talk and meet like minded enthusiasts.

Members of BARMATES have started to construct a 00 layout. The picture shows members starting to lay track on a cold night in January 2008 There will be regular updates on this website of the progress being made

January 2009 and trains are running. Members are still working on the scenery and there is still much to do.

Some members caught the N gauge bug during the Summer of 08 and began constructing a layout in that scale It is nearly 20 feet long and features two levels. the scenic work is inspired by the Derbyshire Dales.
